Global ReformBnB confirms the need for tourism management

Short-term tourist rentals need effective management by the administrations

At the meeting, Global ReformBnB held its third General Assembly in Medellin, Colombia, from November 20 to 22. COTELCO, the hotel and tourism association of Colombia, hosted an event that counted with the participation of hotel representatives from around the world and welcomed as new members the hotel associations of Chile, Uruguay and Mexico City.

At the meeting, worldwide representatives of the hotel industry updated the Short Term Rentals Guidelines of the organization and its working paper on Digitial Distribution.

The General Assembly of Global ReformBnb focused its debate on the need for tourism administrations to address the phenomenon of short-term tourist rentals with effective management, including the guarantee of verifiable records in order to ensure compliance with safety and tax standards in all jurisdictions, and to ensure that local communities perceive tourism as a positive economic activity.

Global ReformBnB’s firm commitment to sustainable social tourism was unanimously approved by all international representatives of the hotel industry whose offer is part of the solution and not the problem.

Finally, the Assembly also addressed with special interest the impact of Artificial
Intelligence on the hotel industry.

Next Global Reformbnb Assembly will take in November 2025.
